| Janurary Training Tipton firefighters will train on rapid intervention team (RIT) tactics including removing a downed firefighter from hazardous situations. They will also conduct ladder testing to ensure the firefighter's safety. |

| Tipton firefighters made a great stop on a garage fire that could have destroyed the entire house during the dead of night. Although the investigation is still in progress, Tipton fire chief Curt Woode thought that it was "99.9% chance that it was electrical in nature". |

| Warm Weather Brings a Busy Week for Tipton Firefighters Already ahead of last year's call volume, Tipton Fire responded to seven fire calls in five days, the last being a 100 acre grass fire that took three departments a couple of hours to control. From March 18th to the 23rd, Tipton Fire responded to seven reported grass fires, three of which all occured on the 21st. Tipton's second grass unit 187 (the old 188) once again proved an invaluable resource during the stretch of calls. |
