To become a Tipton firefighter, you must first understand what will be asked of you. Being a volunteer firefighter is a major time commitment. We meet on the first four Tuesdays of every month for an hour or two. You must be willing to respond to calls 24/7, 365 days a year and perform difficult tasks in all types of weather and sometimes very dangerous atmospheres. It will be expected of you to don and train with a SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) in order to pass your rookie training. You will spend the first year in probation status while working closely with the training officer.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Tipton Volunteer Fire Department, applications can be obtained by contacting Chief John Miller by email (see the About Us page) or contacting any current Tipton firefighter.
