New Fire Station
New Fire Station
When the current station was built in 1972, it far exceeded the needs for the Tipton Fire Department at the time. Compared to the old fire station that was based out of city hall, it was everything the department needed and then some. However, nearly 30 years has seen a dramatic change in eveything concerning the department from truck size to training requirements, from call volume to number of volunteers.

Referendum set for new Fire Station
By Stuart Clark

The main reason for a new fire station is the size of the current station. Fire apparatus is constantly growing and we are running out of room. There is barely any room for responding firefighters to get dressed and it leaves no room for other firefighters to get by. The link to a longer list of reasons for a new station is above.
